About our team

HMA Architects is a team of extremely dedicated and talented individuals. Our CEO, Murray Mack, has been with the firm since its founding in 1988. Several of the staff have been with the firm for over 20 years. The continuity of staff gives our clients the best possible service from project programming through the completion of construction.

Your project type will determine the best team within our office to assist you with the design and construction of your particular and unique space needs. We bring our creative talents to every project and utilize state of the art software such as Revit, SketchUp, Lumion, Enscape, and other tools to help visualize your project throughout every phase of the design process. Our entire team is dedicated to proper process and project success.

Tim Gillet, AIA

President

Principal

Tim is a Registered Architect and Principal of HMA. He has been with the firm since 2000 and is experienced in a wide variety of project types. He has experience in theatres and auditoriums, office facilities, renovations, interior build-outs, and medical/healthcare related spaces. Tim has particular expertise in healthcare design having worked with CentraCare and other medical projects types. His knowledge of many project types and strong leadership skills are invaluable.

Allison Davids, IIDA

Interior Designer

Ally joined HMA in 2019 with over 8 years of experience. She studied Interior Design at Alexandria Technical College, an Accredited program by the National Kitchen and Bath Association. She then advanced her knowledge with a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of North Dakota. Ally has led multiple project types from initial programming through final construction. She is well-versed in a variety of materials, finishes, and styles which help her design unique spaces that meet the needs and aspirations of our clients.

Dan Gottwalt

Architectural Intern

Dan has a Master of Architecture from NDSU and is a St. Cloud native. With multiple years of experience in leadership positions at NDSU, he applies his problem solving and communication skills to the team. Dan assists with our social media, technology needs, digital renderings, and construction documentation.

CEO

As the founding principal of the firm and former owner, Murray has over 30 years of experience. His philosophy of excellence in design and high quality service throughout all phases of a project are evident in the many projects he has brought to completion. He is experienced in a wide variety of project types with an emphasis in projects demanding unique and creative design planning.

Theodore LaCoursiere

Architectural Intern

Ted has a Master of Architecture from SDSU and valuable experience that he puts to use assisting in all aspects of architecture. His former construction experience helps him understand how the materials of a building should come together and the process that comes with constructing a building. This is where Ted's passion for architecture and detail came from and assist him in compiling detailed construction documents and project support.

Nataly Bazo Reisman, IIDA

Architectural Interior Designer

Nataly is an Architectural Interior Designer with over 3 years of experience. She earned her Bachelor's of Architecture in Peru before coming to Alexandria, MN where she earned her Associate's Degree in Interior Design. She is skilled in architectural and interior design for residential and commercial projects. Nataly's unique background equips her with the tools necessary to develop spaces that are functional, yet attractive.

Senior Project Manager

Dean has over 36 years of experience in the architectural industry. His primary involvement is on design development, construction documents, and construction phase services. Dean’s project experience is mainly with large market rate multi-family housing, small to medium size commercial, commercial remodeling, movie theaters, department of military affairs projects, and third party commercial real estate site inspections.

Keegan is a valued member of the HMA team as an Architectural Intern. He graduated from NDSU with a Master's Degree in Architecture and continues to put his knowledge to the test. Keegan's quick learning skills bring critical support to all our projects, with a focus on healthcare.

Brenda Kielb

Administrator

Brenda joined the HMA team in May 2022. She has the desire to blend critical thinking and creativity into every part of her role as administrator. With the desire to simplify and communicate in clear ways, she connects with clients and vendors at HMA in ways that are both welcoming and helpful. Her position comes with a variety of tasks including meeting set-ups, invoicing, billing, answering general questions and assisting with HMA's architects and designers with their clerical needs.
