HMA takes 3D design and animation seriously. We incorporate 3D thinking and modeling into our design process from the very beginning and following though to the completion of the project. After the initial space programming process has been completed we will formulate a "rough" 3D massing model. We do this within the context of the surroundings of the building including the site, adjacent buildings of significance and the existing building if the project includes addition and remodeling.

We then use the model in client presentations to help them, and the entire design team, to better understand the intent, functionally and aesthetically, from a very early design stage. We are able to take the client on a virtual tour of the facility as the design develops from rough massing shapes to detailed rooms with doors, windows, and color.

Once the schematic design has been realized we move the design in a more detailed 3D model using REVIT Building Information Modeling (BIM) software. The added detail at this stage helps with consultant coordination, clash detection, contractor take offs, and a number of other concerns that become critical during the Design Development and Construction Documents phases.

Great projects are the result of a team effort using state of the art software and design tools that inform the owner, architect, consultants, and other agencies about how the project will function, look and fit into its environment.

Early conceptual design included modeling of the site, adjacent buildings and future developments using the Sketchup modeling tool.

Additional rendering and animation tools were used to give a more realistic view of the completed project on the exterior as well as the interior of the new addition.
